AI agents & apps

Run your store by chatting with Claude or ChatGPT

The SBCommerce.net connector lets the AI app you already use look up your orders, stock and bookings, and make everyday changes for you. You sign in once. Replies to shoppers and other changes they would notice wait for your yes in the chat, and refunds wait for your approval in Admin.

Not yet tested in the real Claude or ChatGPT apps. Our own tests cover the sign-in and every tool, and the steps below follow each app’s own help pages as of October 2026. Their menus change often. If a step doesn’t work, write to support@sbcommerce.net.

What it can do

The app works as you, with your role in the store, and goes through the same checks as Admin.

Look things up

Orders, customers, products, stock, bookings, payment requests, messages, reviews, discount codes and sales reports. “What came in today, and what still needs shipping?”

Make everyday changes

Mark orders shipped, set stock and prices, add order notes, update a customer, add products and page sections as drafts, and suggest replies to reviews. If something on SBCommerce.net itself fails, or a tool it needs is missing, it can report that to our team.

Ask you first, in the chat

Replying to a shopper, publishing or removing a product, changing a page section that is on the shop, adding or changing a discount code, posting a review reply, hiding or showing a review, marking an order paid, and moving or cancelling a booking. The app shows you what will happen and needs your yes before it goes ahead.

Wait for your approval in Admin

Refunds, order cancellations and payment requests. The app only files a request; nothing happens until an owner or admin approves it in Admin, under Home › AI agents & apps or Settings › AI apps. The app never moves money itself.

What it doesn’t do

  • Set up a store, its payments or its Ready to sell items: you do those in Admin.
  • Add product photos or sizes and colours: those are in Admin › Products.
  • Delete things. Products are taken off the shop and discount codes turned off, so their history stays.

Add it to your AI app

Each person adds it to their own app, once. The connector’s address:

https://api.sbcommerce.net/mcp

Claude

  1. On claude.ai or in the desktop app, open Customize › Connectors, click + Add, then Add custom connector.
  2. Name it SBCommerce.net, paste the address above and click Add.
  3. Click Connect, sign in at SBCommerce.net and click Allow.
  4. In a chat, open + › Connectors and turn SBCommerce.net on.

Every Claude plan; Free allows one custom connector. On Team and Enterprise an organisation owner adds it first, then each person clicks Connect.

ChatGPT

  1. On chatgpt.com, open Plugins, click +, then Add custom MCP server.
  2. Name it SBCommerce.net, paste the address above and choose OAuth.
  3. Read the warning, tick I understand and want to continue, and click Create as a plugin.
  4. Sign in at SBCommerce.net and click Allow.

Changes need ChatGPT Business or Enterprise, where an admin adds it; Pro can only read. OpenAI doesn’t say that Plus or Free can add one.

Other apps

Grok, Claude Code, Codex and other apps that take a remote MCP server with OAuth sign-in use the same address. The developer guide has the steps for each.

Sign in once, then name the store

Signing in

When you connect, the app opens an SBCommerce.net page. Sign in there and click Allow; the page lists the stores the app will be able to work in. The app never sees your password or a key.

Choosing the store

One connection covers every store where you are an owner, admin or manager. The app names a store on every request, so if you have more than one, say which you mean.

Who can do what

It can do only what your role in that store allows, checked on every request. Managers can’t ask for refunds, cancellations or payment requests. An owner or admin can turn AI apps off for a store under Settings › AI apps.

Your data

  • Shoppers’ email addresses, phone numbers and postal addresses are left out unless the app asks for them for a task.
  • What the app reads goes to the company behind it, under your agreement with them. See AI apps you connect in our privacy policy.
  • Every change it makes is in the store’s audit log, under your name, with the app noted.
  • A shopper’s message or review could carry text meant to steer an AI. Read what the app proposes before you agree.

Disconnecting

  • In Admin: Home › AI agents & apps › Connected apps, or Settings › AI apps, then Disconnect. That cuts the app off at once, in all your stores.
  • In Claude: Customize › Connectors › SBCommerce.net › Remove.
  • In ChatGPT: Settings › Plugins › SBCommerce.net › Disconnect.
  • Do both: removing it only in the app may leave its sign-in working until it runs out.

Limits

  • 60 requests and 20 changes a minute for each connection.
  • Up to 10 refund, cancellation or payment requests a day for each connection. Each one waits 24 hours for approval, then expires.
  • A yes in the chat works for about 10 minutes, and only for the exact change shown.
  • The app’s sign-in renews itself while you use it. It ends 60 days after the app last used it, or at once when you disconnect.
  • Your store’s plan limits apply as they do in Admin.
