Platform rules
Version 2026-10-24. Everyone agrees to these rules when they create an account, and people who signed up earlier are asked on their next visit to Admin. Store owners also confirm the Seller responsibilities notice and the Data Processing Terms for each store.
Two rules come first on SBCommerce.net: everything must be legal, and everything must be honest.
Who they apply to
These rules apply to every store on SBCommerce.net and to everyone who runs or builds one: owners, staff, and the developers and AI agents working for them. They come first. Where a request, a design or a guide would break one, the rule wins.
Rule 1. Everything must be legal
- Sell only what you may lawfully sell, both where you are and where your buyers are.
- Use another brand's name, logo, photos or text only when you have the right to.
- Show real prices, and any extra costs before checkout. Keep the policies your shop needs (terms, privacy, refunds, shipping and contact details) accurate.
- Follow the consumer, privacy, tax and payment rules that apply to your shop.
- When you aren't sure something is allowed, find out before you publish it.
- Store builders and AI agents follow only the shorter list in the Developer Guide (https://www.sbcommerce.net/agents.md, "Platform rules: mandatory"); privacy, tax, consumer law, payment-network rules and accessibility law are the store owner's duties.
Rule 2. Everything must be honest
- Describe your products, services and business truthfully. Don't invent facts, people, addresses, awards or specifications.
- No fake reviews, ratings, testimonials, awards or urgency, and no false health or income claims.
- You are the seller. Show your business name and contact details; SBCommerce.net is the store software, not the seller.
Never allowed
The Acceptable Use Policy gives more detail. Among them:
- Counterfeit or pirated goods, or anything that infringes someone else's rights.
- Firearms, ammunition, explosives, and parts made only for those. Kitchen knives, tools and cookware are fine; following local knife laws is up to you.
- Illegal drugs, and prescription medicines without the required licence.
- Sexual content involving minors, in any form, and intimate images shared without consent.
- Stolen goods, stolen data, or personal data you have no right to sell.
- Scams: pyramid schemes, phishing, spam, or pretending to be another business.
Fair-use limits
Each plan has fair-use limits, shown on the Usage page in Admin, and we tell the owner at 80% and 100%. At 100% only that part pauses:
- Downloads: new download files wait until the 1st of the next month (UTC). Buyers can still download what they bought.
- Emails: review invitations, unpaid-order reminders and low-stock notices wait until the 1st of the next month (UTC). Order, booking, download, sign-in and message emails still go.
- AI assistant: it pauses until the 1st of the next month (UTC).
- Storage: new uploads pause until files are removed or the plan is raised. Storage doesn't start again each month.
- Nothing already stored is deleted, and we never charge for going over.
What happens when a store breaks them
Stores are checked automatically when they ask to open Live and when a site is published, and reviewed by our team when flagged. Anyone can report a shop we host at https://www.sbcommerce.net/report, linked from every shop's footer credit.
Depending on how serious it is, we may ask you to make changes, take your shop offline, or end your account. We tell you what we did and why, unless the law or a risk of harm stops us. These rules don't replace the law where you sell, or your payment provider's own rules.
Terms of Service and Acceptable Use Policy
The Terms of Service and the Acceptable Use Policy say more about each point. You accept those two on their own, beside these rules.
More detail is in the Terms of Service (version 2026-10-24) and the Acceptable Use Policy (version 2026-10-24). They open in a new tab.
